How to Make a Twitter Page

Twitter is a well-known social networking site. The site allows you to send short descriptive text messages (tweets) to your friends (followers). Twitter is used by businesses, bloggers and everyday people. It is a great networking website for people who want to stay in touch with friends, family and consumers. If you want to become a part of this growing networking website, all you need is an email address to sign up and become a member.

Instructions

1. Sign up for Twitter. Go to the Twitter website (Twitter.com). Click on the yellow "Sign up" icon located on the top right-hand side of the page. The page will prompt you to enter your name, user name, email address and password. Enter the information. Read the terms of service, then click "Create my account." An email will be sent to your email account within seconds. Read your email and click on the confirmation link to verify your email address. Enter your email address and password, and then click "Sign in."

2. Write your first Tweet. This is where you alert your followers what is happening in your life or how you are feeling. The Tweet must be 140 words or less. The link to Tweet is under the phrase "Step 1," which is located on your Twitter profile page. When your Tweet is complete, click "Finish."

3. Personalize your profile page. Under the phrase "Step 2," which is located on your profile page, there are links available to create your biography and upload a picture. Click on one of the links and it will guide you to a page where you can upload a photo and create a short bio. To add a picture click "Browse." The screen directs you to your picture files. Choose a picture and right-click on it twice. To add a bio, scroll down the screen, and then right-click into the Bio box to begin typing your biography. When complete, click "Save" and your page is complete.
