How to Decorate Chair Covers for a Wedding

Instructions

1. Tie a sash around the backs of the wedding chairs, using a highlight color to make the main wedding colors stand out. Choose a sash color that differs from the chair cover color to create contrast and visual interest. For example, if your main wedding color palette is clover green and watermelon pink, with subtle touches of silver in the decor and wedding ensembles, silver is your highlight color. Your tablecloths and chair covers could be clover green, the napkins watermelon pink and the sashes silver. You could also match the sash to the napkin color.

2. Pin an antique broach in the middle of each sash to add a vintage touch of sparkle. Collect broaches from friends and relatives, or visit thrift stores and yard sales in the months before your wedding.

3. Tuck silk flowers into the knot of each sash, so that the blooms are clustered above the bow or knot. The flowers add another splash of color.

4. Paint small wooden signs to reflect the initials of the bride and groom, the wedding date, romantic words such as "love" and "kiss," or even simply the table number of each table. Attach ribbon or yarn to each sign, and tie around the back of each chair instead of a sash.
