Direct your browser to Hypster.com and click "Register" to create an account or log in if you already have one. Follow the steps to fill in your email, password and a username.

Type in a song or artist in the search box at the top of the page and click the song you want to have as your background music.

Click on "My Account" and click on the tape player photo located on the right side of the page. Click either the "Widget player" or "Classic player." Choose a color to use by clicking the circle next to the music bar. Click "Get Code."

Press "Ctrl" and "A" to select the text in the code box.

Log into your Tumblr account and click on "Preferences," then click "Customize." Click on "Info," then paste the text from the code box into the blank box. Click "Save and Close" to save the changes.
