How to Make Paper Egyptian Costumes
An Egyptian costume includes elements of ancient Egyptian dress, like a white tunic with gold accents. Use a paper grocery bag to make the tunic portion of the costume. Wear the piece with white or black pants and a Cleopatra wig. This type of costume works for men and women, though women need to wear a white T-shirt under the vest to keep themselves covered up.

1
Turn a paper grocery bag upside down, so the bottom panel is facing upward.
-
2
Cut a vertical line up the middle of the front panel of the bag. Cut the horizontal seam of the bag, separating the front panel from the top panel.
-
-
3
Cut the top panel off of the bag. You now have a vest-like piece.
-
4
Cut a circle from the top of each side panel, making each circle large enough for your arms to fit through.
-
5
Paint the outside of the paper bag using white acrylic paint. Let dry.
-
6
Paint a border along each panel of the bag, using gold paint to create a 1-inch-thick border along all the edges. Let dry.
-
7
Paint a purple square over the left side of the front panel, making the square about 4 inches by 4 inches. Paint a similar square in a ruby red paint on the opposite side of the panel. Below each square, paint a second square, one in emerald green and one in navy blue, to make the costume piece look like it is adorned with rich jewels.
-
8
Pair the paper bag tunic with a headband made of fake leaves spray painted gold. Wear other gold jewelry accessories and line your eyes with black eyeliner.
