How to Make a Choker or Necklace With Leather & Beads
Chokers are a form of necklace that can be adjusted either to hang as a conventional necklace or tighter against the throat. You can make a choker using a leather cord and beads to give as a gift or wear yourself. The choker will be knotted in a certain way to allow you to adjust the cord for different neck sizes and getting it over the wearer's head.

1
Cut 1 meter of leather necklace cord.
-
2
Thread a bead or bead configuration onto the cord. Slide the beads into the middle of the cord. The beads you use can be of any type such as gemstone or shell beads, but you should be sure that the cord can get through the hole in the bead okay.

-
3
Create a loop in one end of the cord, with at least 10 cm of tail behind the loop.
-
4
Hold the other end of the leather corded against the loop. Wrap the tail of the loop over and around the loop and other end three times. Slide the wraps together and feed the tail cord into the loop. Pull the tail to make the knot tighter.
-
5
Hold the second end of the cord. Slide the knot back towards the beads to give you more cord to work with.
-
6
Form a loop in the second end of the cord with a 10 cm tail. Hold the loop against the necklace cord. Wrap the tail of the loop over and around the loop and other end three times. Slide the wraps together and feed the tail cord into the loop. Pull the tail to make the knot tighter.

7
Trim off the remaining ends, leaving about a millimeter of cord so that the knots do not come loose.
