How to Get a Soothe Bell in "Pokemon Pearl"
The Soothe Bell is an item held by a Pokemon of your choosing to increase its happiness. How happiness affects each Pokemon varies, though it is generally used to increase the rate at which a Pokemon evolves. Certain Pokemon also receive additional hit points (HP) while having the Soothe Bell equipped. In "Pokemon Pearl," the Soothe Bell is given to you in the Pokemon Mansion, which also houses the Trophy Garden and other various items.

Walk, bike or fly to Pastoria City. Press the "Start" button and select "Map" to see your current location and how to get to Pastoria City.

Walk to the west side of the city and exit onto Route 212 as indicated by the sign on the edge of the city.

Walk west along Route 212 until you reach the only large building on the route — the Pokemon Mansion. Enter the Pokemon Mansion and enter the second door on the left.

Talk to the maid to receive the Soothe Bell.
