Do-It-Yourself Native-American Indian Costume
If you've been invited to a costume party last-minute, you'll need a quick and easy costume you can throw together in a pinch. A Native-American costume fills the bill, and can be made using a large T-shirt and a few other materials and items. This costume solution is inexpensive and unique, ensuring no other guest at the party will have the same outfit as you. This costume works for men or women, and can even be customized for children.
Things You'll Need
- Large T-shirt
- Scissors
- Beads
- Twine
- Feathers
- Glue
- Faux leather
- Thread
- Turquoise beads
- Red lipstick

Find a large tan or brown T-shirt that reaches almost to your knees. Make 2-inch deep cuts around the bottom of the shirt and the sleeves, creating a fringe. Tie a plastic bead at each piece of fringe.

Wear the T-shirt and cinch in the waist with a 3-foot long piece of twine. Glue a feather to each end of the twine.

Cut a strip of faux leather about 2-feet long. Wrap the strip around your head and stick a colorful feather behind the strap.

String turquoise beads onto a 2-foot piece of thread, making a necklace to wear around your neck.

Braid your hair into pigtail braids if you have long hair.

Draw a horizontal line under each eye using red lipstick.
