Fill a bowl with two parts white vinegar and one part bleach. Both bleach and white acid are acidic. This helps to remove the thin layer of zinc on the tin.

Submerge the tin top into the solution. Leave it there for one to two hours. The longer the tin is in the solution the more it will rust.

-
3
Put on rubber gloves. Remove the tin top.

4
Place the tin top on a paper towel. Place the paper towel in direct sunlight. Heat accelerates the aging process.

5
Fill a small spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide.
-
6
Spray the tin top once an hour until the sun goes down. Hydrogen peroxide is also good for corroding or ageing metal. By keeping the tin top wet, you can accelerate the corrosion process.
-
