How to Make a Reverse Crab Stitch in Crochet
The crab stitch in crochet is a reversed single crochet stitch. It is also sometimes referred to as the shrimp stitch, Italian edge, corded edge, knurl or pie crust stitch. This stitch is useful a simple border resembling a corded edge on a project that you don't want to be too feminine or to add an interesting alternative to the traditional single crochet. The project is crocheted from left to right instead of the usual right to left and is started on a new row.

Chain one, after completing a row of single crochet. Don't turn your project around to the other side as you normally would.

Angle the point of the crochet hook up with the end pointing downward and insert the crochet hook into the first stitch to the right. Place the yarn over the hook in a clockwise direction and pull the yarn through the hook. Place the yarn over the hook once more and pull the yarn through both hooks to complete one crab stitch.
