Ruffled Felt Wreath
You can find delicate, flirty ruffles on all sorts of home décor items, such as pillows, bedspreads, shower curtains and even lampshades. If you've filled your home with these little bits of feminine décor, when it comes time to decorate your home for a holiday, you'll most likely want to stick with the "ruffles" theme. Not to worry; you can make a ruffled felt wreath that works for any holiday or season just by picking the appropriate embellishment and color of felt.
Things You'll Need
- 3/4 yard Felt
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Needle
- Thread
- 12-inch Circular foam or straw wreath form

1
Cut 3/4 yard of felt into 2-inch-wide strips; it doesn't matter whether you cut them lengthwise or widthwise.
-
2
Sew a running stitch -- a back-and-forth stitch with 1/8-inch stitch length -- down the center of one strip of felt with needle and thread. Push the strip up the thread of the stitch toward the knotted end. Knot the other end of the thread to hold the felt. This creates a felt ruffle. Repeat with the rest of the strips.

Place a dot of hot glue on the bottom back of the wreath form. Place an end of one of the felt ruffles in the dot of glue. Wrap the ruffle around the form, overlapping the wraps by 1/4 inch so the form doesn't show through. Keep wrapping until you come to the end of the ruffle. Secure that end to the form with another dot of hot glue.

Add a second ruffle to the wreath form starting where the last one left off. Keep adding ruffle strips to the wreath form to cover it completely.

Tips & Warnings
Leave your ruffled wreath plain, or embellish it. Add, using a little hot glue, small ornaments for Christmas, wooden eggs for Easter, acorns for fall or silk flowers for spring.
