Take care when adjusting your watch bracelet so you don't bend the pins.

The bracelet of your Fossil watch can be shortened or lengthened to your wrist size. This process involves adding or removing metal links secured by pins. Most watches are sold with larger bracelets than necessary; you will likely need to remove links. If you need to add links, your watch dealer can order some for you and make the adjustment.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the watch on your wrist and close the clasp. Use your fingers to take up the extra links until the watch is snug enough to your liking.

    • 2

Remove the watch and place tape along the sides of the bracelet and the watch face. This protects the watch from scratches as you work.

    • 3

Look at the underside of the watch and locate the arrows underneath the links. These arrows show the direction in which the pins must be driven out. Don't drive the pins out from the wrong direction, they will break or bend.

    • 4

Place the watch on its side on a block of wood with the arrows facing downward and the clasp over the hole. Place the punch inside of the hole of the clasp and drive out the pins. Remove the pins on the other side using pliers, set them aside and remove the clasp. Repeat this process for each link you want to remove. Remove an equal amount of links on each side of the band.

    • 5

Place the clasp back onto the watch and insert the pins in the hole. Remember to insert the pins in the same direction as the arrow. Set the watch down on the block and drive the pin in using the hammer. Repeat this step for the other pin.

    • 6

Place the watch on your wrist, close the clasp and check the fit. Add or remove links as necessary to adjust the fit of the watch.
