A new home houses many strong odors immediately after the home is built. Everything from curing concrete to floor adhesive can create smells in the house. One of the strongest smells people have to contend with is fresh paint. Open all the windows in the house to get a stream of air moving. If you have screen doors, open the doors as well to get even more air movement.

Turn on several fans to increase the house's air flow.

Run the air conditioning system. It helps remove odors and control humidity so odors don't linger in the room.

Vacuum and clean the space thoroughly to remove any dust or other loose particles that could contribute to odors.

Set out sliced onions and bowls of vinegar in any room where paint smell is a problem. These help absorb paint odors from the air.

If you don't have an air purification system installed in your home, you may want to rent one to help improve the quality of air in the house before you move in.
No one should live in a house for 48 to 72 hours after it has been painted, or after carpet has been installed, as this is when most odors are released.
