How to Make a Tile Not Sticky
Tiles can become sticky because of food or drink spills, or even if you use too much soap in the water when you mop the floors. You can remove a sticky residue on tiles by cleaning them correctly, and then maintaining them to prevent residue from building up again. The sticky spots should come up with regular soap, so you do not need to use harsh chemical cleaners. This cleaning method will work on floor or wall tiles. Does this Spark an idea?

Sweep the sticky tile or wipe it down with a dry cloth to get up any dirt or food particles. Fill a bucket with warm water and just enough liquid dish soap to make suds.

Dip a scrub brush in the soapy water and scrub the sticky residue until it comes off the tile. If the entire floor or wall is sticky, mop it with the soapy water.

Empty, rinse and refill the bucket whenever the water becomes cloudy. Using dirty water will make the tile stickier.

Empty the bucket and rinse it clean, then fill it with clean water. Wipe the floor or wall tile with a towel dipped in the clean water to rinse off the soap. Wipe the tile with a dry towel.
