How to Make a Tube Top Out of Spandex Material

Tube tops are a style of strapless shirt, often worn during the summer on especially hot or humid days. Spandex material is ideal for tube tops as you have no straps to rely on to keep your top in place. Depending on your personal taste, many people choose to sew in a built-in style bra, or to invest in a good strapless bra to pair up with their tube top.

Things You'll Need

• Spandex fabric
• Tape measure
• Scissors
• Pins
• Sewing machine

Instructions

1. Measure around your bust and waist. Measure from the top of your bust line to where you would like the tube top to sit on your waist.

2. Lay your fabric out flat on a solid surface. Using your measurements from Step 1, cut out a front and back piece.

3. Sew the front and back pieces together along the side seams.

4. Fold a 1/4-inch hem and sew along the top and bottom edges of the tube top.
