The Google Chrome Web browser offers a streamlined viewing experience. You can type key concepts directly in the URL address bar to navigate the Web. Customize the Google Chrome background with your digital drawing or photograph. The Windows 7 Paint program and Windows Live Photo Gallery allow you to edit your digital files for sharing and viewing. By uploading your file to Picasa Web Albums, you can select this file for your Google homepage.

Instructions

  1. Upload the Image to Picasa Web Albums

      Create a digital image, such as a drawing with the Windows 7 Paint program or a photograph of a scene or object. The content should fit a horizontal format. Save the file. You can also select a previously saved image file to upload.

      Sign into the Picasa Web Albums site, picasaweb.google.com. If you do not have an account, create one.

      Click the “Upload” button on the Picasa Web Albums site. A blank screen appears.

      Click and drag the image file to the “Drag photos here” screen. You can also browse by clicking the “Select photos from your computer” button. Double-click the image file to open the image file. The image uploads to your Picasa Web Albums account.

      Click “OK.”

    Change the Google Chrome Background

      Click the “Start” button or press the “Window” key.

      Type “Google Chrome” in the “Search programs and files” text box. Click “Google Chrome” on the search results list.

      Click “Change background image.” This link appears in the lower-right corner of the screen.

      Sign into your Google Gmail account. Type the Gmail address and the password. The “Select a background image for your Google homepage” dialog window appears.

      Click “Your Picasa Web photos.” The saved image file appears in the dialog window.

      Click the saved image file from the Picasa Web Album.

      Click “Select.” If this "Select" button does not activate, try clicking the image again, then click the "Submit" button. The dialog window closes. The image file displays as your customized Google Chrome background.
