How to Decorate a Wedding Arch With Red Roses

Flowers add a burst of color to the wedding arch.

Because the wedding arch serves as the backdrop for the wedding ceremony, it is present in numerous photos your photographer will take during the exchange of vows and rings. For this reason, special attention must be paid to the arch itself and its embellishments. Incorporating red roses into the wedding arch gives the arch a look of classic romance. The red also serves as a bright and visually interesting contrast to the white in the bride's gown and the arch itself, if it is painted the traditional white.

Instructions

    • 1

Weave the stems of the roses into the arch itself so that they are integrated into the lines of the arch. This can be done sparingly, with a few roses woven into the arch in a scattered fashion, or can be done to cover the entire arch with the red roses, depending on your style preference.

    • 2

Secure the roses in place on the arch with pieces of green floral tape. You could also further accent the red and help secure them to the arch with red ribbon.

    • 3

Tie the stems of the flowers to pieces of fishing line, which will appear transparent to the guests seated at a distance and in the wedding photos. Suspend the roses upside down from the arch to create a whimsical effect.

    • 4

Tie or glue small LED lights or electric candles to the fishing lure above the roses. This casts a soft glow on the hanging flowers, calling further attention to them.

    • 5

Scatter red rose petals beneath and around the arch to complement the flowers on the arch itself.

    • 6

Place potted red rosebushes at the base of both ends of the arch. This further enhances the look of the roses on the arch itself.
