How to Conceal Dark Circles When Makeup Doesn't Work
Dark circles beneath the eyes can be caused by aging, lack of sleep, a genetic predisposition or even nasal congestion. It can be a hassle to determine and buy the right shades of makeup concealer, only to find that your dark circles aren't quite covered up. Using more natural, homemade remedies can improve the appearance of dark circles over time. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Tomato
- Lemon
- Tumeric powder
- Gramflour
- Cucumber
- Potato
- Almond oil/almonds
- Milk

Keep a healthy diet. Drink a sufficient amount of water every day (about eight glasses or more). Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, particularly foods with a wealth of vitamin C, vitamin E and iron.

Mix a paste with a teaspoon of tomato juice, half teaspoon of lemon juice, and a pinch of tumeric powder and gramflour. Apply to the area under your eyes for about 10 minutes. You can also simply mix equal parts tomato and lemon juice and apply it under your eyes twice daily.

Put two cucumber slices or raw potato slices over the eyes and let them sit for about 10 minutes. If you choose potato slices, be sure to add a few drops of water to them and wrap them in a paper towel before applying. Also try applying cucumber juice or potato juice to the skin beneath your eyes, dabbing with cotton balls.

Perform Sarvangasana, a yoga posture, daily to reduce puffiness and dark circles. Also perform Jal Neti, a yogic technique of nasal irrigation, about five times a week. Learn more about both these procedures from a professional yoga instructor before trying them on your own.

Massage the area around your eyes with almond oil before going to bed. You can also try mixing ground almonds and milk in a paste to apply and massage beneath your eyes every morning for about five minutes.
