  1. Set up WordPress

    • 1

      Open a Web browser. Go to the Blue Host website at bluehost.com. Click the blue "Control Panel Login" button. Type your domain and password under "Account Manager Login." Click the "LOGIN" button to go to your cPanel.

      Scroll down to the "Software/Services" section. Click the "WordPress" icon to go to the "Install WordPress" page.

      Click the green "Install" button to install WordPress. Follow the steps to install WordPress.

      Open a Web browser and go to the podPress plugin website at how-to-podcast-tutorial.com/21-podcast-hosting.htm. Click the orange "Download" button and save the file to your computer desktop.

      Return to your Blue Host cPanel you opened in step one. Scroll down to the "Files" section and click "File Manager" to open the Web root (public_html/www) directory. Click the "wp-content" folder and click the "plugins" folder.

      Click the "Upload" icon on the "File Manager" page. Click "Choose file," select the "podPress" folder and click "Open." After the folder uploads, highlight it and click "Extract" to unzip the zipped folder.

    Use podPress

      Open a Web browser window. Go to the WordPress admin login page. Type your username and password. Click the blue "Log in" button to go to the WordPress "Dashboard."

      Click "Plugins" and click "Installed Plugins." Click "Activate" under the "podPress" plugin name. Click the "podPress" link on the "Dashboard" menu. Configure the podcast specifications under "iTunes Settings" and "General Feed Settings."

      Click the blue "Update Options" at the bottom of the page to update the podcast specifications. Click "Add New" under "Posts." Type the "post title." In the post body.

      Click the "Audio" music notes icon next to the "Upload/Insert" section. Select the MP3 podcast file and upload it. Click "Save All Changes" to upload the podcast file.

      Add a link to the podcast RSS feed in the post body for subscribers. Click the blue "Publish" button to publish the post with the podcast and the RSS feed link.

Tips & Warnings

  • Put all podcast blog posts into their own category.
