How to Sell Artwork on Craigslist
You have a chance to make money by selling your own original creations or selling prints of your artwork on Craigslist. The website allows users to post free advertisements for items they want to sell. Buyers can browse the advertisements for items they want to purchase. They then contact the seller through the anonymous "reply to" email address with the ad provided by Craigslist . You can use the Craigslist "Arts and Crafts" section to sell artwork at any price you wish.

Take one to four photos of your artwork. Place your artwork in a clean area with minimal background distractions and good lighting, such as a blank wall in a well-lit room. Use a digital camera to take closeup shots of your artwork. Take shots from different angles if the artwork has multiple sides. Upload the photos to your computer's hard drive.

Click the "Post to Classifieds" link on the Craigslist website.

Click the "Apply for Account" link. Enter your email address in the text box. Enter the verification word to the left of the "Captcha" text box. Click the "create account" button. Wait for Craiglist's registration notice to appear in your email box.

Log on to your email server and locate the registration email from Craigslist. Click the hyperlink in the notice to return to Craigslist's website and complete your account registration. Type a password in the "Password" text box. Re-enter the password in the "Re-type Password" text box. Click the "Submit Password and Log In" button to complete your registraton.

Click the "new posting" tab from the account screen. Locate your city using the scroll box and click the "go" button.

Click the radio button next to "for sale." Click the "Continue" button to proceed. Click the "arts & crafts" radio button to create a new advertisement.

Enter a title for your ad in the text box labeled "Posting Title." Write a short but descriptive title for your artwork. Include keywords that a person would use when searching for your type of art.

Add a price for your artwork in the "Price" text box. Enter your location in the "Specific Location" text box.

Add a description of your artwork in the "Posting Description" text box. Describe the appearance of the artwork, the style of the work and the mediums used. Describe the condition of the artwork. State whether the piece is an original or a print.

Click the "Add/Edit Images" button. Click the "Choose File" button and select photos from your hard drive. You can add up to four photos. Click the "Continue" button to review your ad.

Proof read your ad and click the "Continue" button to finalize your advertisement. Your ad should appear within minutes.

Tips & Warnings
Enter a specific location for your ad, such as your neighborhood area. Many people look for items closest to their homes or businesses on Craigslist. Including specific locations may help you get more customers.
Check your email often for buying offers or questions.
Watch out for scams. Do not answer any emails that seem suspicious and never give out your personal information.
Offer to meet the buyer in a public place to reduce the risk of possible danger.
