Instructions

Hang a wind chime from the ceiling at the edge of your patio. When choosing the exact location to place this accessory, make sure it's where guests can easily see and appreciate it. The wind chime should also complement the theme of your patio. If you have an Asian-inspired decor, choose Asian-style wind chimes, most of which incorporate rich-colored wood in their design.

Position tall plants as accents in the corners of the patio. For Asian-inspired themes, good examples of plants to use include the pagoda tree, ginkgo tree, golden larch, tree peony, forsythia and viburnum.

Hang container plants in baskets around the ledge of your patio. Ideally, you should use plants that add colors other than green to the space, such as chrysanthemums, stream violets and tiger lilies. These are also plants that originated in Asia, so they go well with an Asian-inspired theme, or to any other theme if your main focus is to add color and beauty.

Place a collection of flowers on your patio table to use as a centerpiece. If your patio space is small, you can also incorporate a set of wind chimes directly above the floral centerpiece. Since it will hang over the table, you are not using any air space that will interfere with maneuvering around the patio.
