DIY Halloween Hearts

Halloween doesn't have to be all about ghosts, goblins, witches and spooks; it can also feature sweet elements. If you're decorating your home for Halloween and you want to stay away from the spooky side, create heart decorations made with Halloween colors.   • Black poster board
  • Scissors
  • Hole puncher
  • Black ribbon
  • Black, orange, green and purple tissue paper
  • Clear-drying craft glue
  • Push pins
  • Suction cup hooks
  • Self-adhesive hooks

      Cut out hearts from black poster board. Cut out hearts in a variety of sizes to create an eye-catching display, including 12-inch, 8-inch and 6-inch hearts.

      Punch a hole through each of the hearts in the center of the two humps. Cut a length of black ribbon for each heart and string a piece through each hole. Tie the ends of the ribbon into a knot to create a loop.

      Tear pieces of black, orange, green and purple tissue paper. After tearing the pieces, roll them into small balls.

      Lay the hearts on a flat surface. Cover the surface of the hearts with clear-drying craft glue.

      Press the wads of tissue paper onto the hearts until they are completely covered. Cover hearts in all one color, in two colors or feature all of the colors on the hearts.

      Hang the hearts by the looped ribbon from a ceiling with pushpins. Press suction cup hooks onto a window and display the hearts on the windows. Hang self-adhesive hooks from the ceiling or a porch and hang the hearts from the hooks.
