Instructions

    • 1

Cut two pieces of Styrofoam into 24-inch squares. You can also use floral foam blocks, which offer a very similar texture and durability. Keep the leftover pieces to use for the other tiers.

    • 2

Tape the two squares together. This forms a 24-inch square that is 8 inches thick. This forms the bottom base of the square cupcake tower.

    • 3

Cut one of the leftover pieces into a 7-inch square. This forms the top tier of the tower. The leftover piece from the Styrofoam should measure 12 inches square; this forms the middle tier of the tower. Discard the leftover piece from the other sheet of Styrofoam.

    • 4

Choose a gift wrap to use for the tower. The gift wrap you choose will be the theme of the cupcake tower. If you are using the tower for a wedding, choose a wedding wrapping paper. If desired, use aluminum foil instead of gift wrap.

    • 5

Wrap each tier in the paper. Do this in the same way you would wrap a gift, making sure it looks very neat and is not crumpled or wrinkled. Tape the paper as you go.

    • 6

Cut three pieces of ribbon. Use any colored ribbon that matches the paper and cut it into three pieces that are 96 inches, 48 inches and 28 inches.

    • 7

Wrap the ribbon around the edges of the tiers using the longest piece for the bottom tier. Use the other two pieces for the other tiers. Glue the ribbon in place on the same sides of all tiers. This will allow you to have a front and back of your tower.

    • 8

Stack the tiers. Place the middle sized tier on top of the bottom tier and place the smallest tier on top of the middle tier. Glue the tiers together if desired.

    • 9

Arrange the cupcakes. Place the cupcakes on each tier. If you are bringing this tower somewhere, wait until you arrive to assemble it.
