How to Make a Styrofoam Crystal Ball
Crystal balls are the mysterious baubles gypsies, fortune tellers and wizards use to peer into the future. For Halloween, and other types of celebrations, make your own crystal ball out of Styrofoam. You can place the ball on a table as a decoration for a Halloween party or set it out on a table where a fortune teller will be sitting.

1
Cover a work area with newspaper. This will protect your area from getting soiled from the craft supplies.
-
2
Pour glue onto a paper plate. Roll the 8-inch Styrofoam ball on the plate to cover it with glue. Be careful when doing this, because it is easy to get your hands covered in glue.

3
Cut out a 10-inch long piece of tin foil. Remove the ball from the plate of glue and discard the plate.
-
4
Wrap the foil around the ball, being careful to wrap it as smoothly as possible. As you are wrapping it, rub out the wrinkles the foil naturally makes. Cover the entire ball and cut off any extra pieces of foil, if necessary. The glue will naturally come through the foil slightly.

5
Choose a color of glitter and pour some onto another paper plate. Rub the foil-covered ball on the glitter plate. The small amount of glue that seeps through the foil will cause the glitter to stick to the ball. Roll it around the plate until the ball is covered in glitter.
-
6
Set the ball on a piece of foil or parchment paper to dry. Let it dry for at least 15 minutes before using it. Do not pick it up until the glue is completely dry.
-
7
Make the stand for the ball by cutting a plastic cup in half. Discard the bottom half of the cup and glue the crystal ball to the cup. Allow it to dry completely before using it. If desired, paint the cup a color of your choice with an acrylic paint.
