Instructions

    • 1

Spread the parchment paper on a clean, dry work surface. For most muffin recipes, you will need 12 to 24 paper liners. Determine how many you need for your recipe.

    • 2

Place a cup with a 4-inch diameter on the parchment paper. Trace the circumference of the cup on the paper, then cut out the circle.

    • 3

Cut out squares of parchment paper slightly larger than the 4-inch circle. Cut as many squares as needed for the number of muffins you are baking.

    • 4

Stack the squares of parchment paper and place the cut-out circle on top. Using regular, or decorative-edged scissors, cut through the stack of squares making each one into a circle. By cutting them all at once, they will all be the same size. Pinking shears work well for a decorative edge.

    • 5

Place several circles over the opening of a 1/4-cup measuring cup. Use a small bottle -- small enough that it just fits -- to push the parchment circles into the measuring cup.

    • 6

Remove the bottle. Gently pinch the muffin papers along the creases to further mold them into the correct shapes. Repeat this process until all the paper cups are shaped.

    • 7

Place the liners in muffin pans. Fill the cups with muffin or cupcake batter and bake.
