Felt Peace Sign Wreath
Make a wreath in the shape of the peace symbol -- a circle with a line in the middle and two lines extending from the bottom -- and adorn it with felt. Felt comes in many colors and is found inexpensively in craft stores, so you can make your peace sign wreath in any color your want. Follow a basic wire frame procedure to make a sturdy base for the wreath and complete it using materials and tools found in your own home.

1
Bend a wire coat hanger into the shape of a circle; use a pair of pliers to get it as round and even as possible. Coil the hook of the hanger down into a loop about 1 1/2 inches across.
-
2
Twist the end of a piece of 16-gauge wire around the top of the circle to secure it. Bring the wire down to the middle of the bottom of the circle. Twist it around the bottom of the circle to secure it and trim the excess wire with wire cutters.

3
Measure 5 inches from the end of the wire at the bottom of the circle, opposite the side with the loop. Twist the end of another piece of 16-gauge wire around this point of the circle. Twist the end to make sure it is secure.
-
4
Bring the wire up to just below the middle of the wire that stretches from top to bottom and coil it tightly twice. Bend the wire down at an angle and bring it to the bottom of the circle, 5 inches from the middle wire. Twist it around the bottom of the circle at that point. You now have the frame for the peace sign wreath. Trim the excess wire from the ends.
-
5
Apply hot glue to the spots where you twisted the ends of the wire together to reinforce the structure of the frame. Wait 30 minutes for the hot glue to harden.
-
6
Measure and cut strips of felt 1 inch wide by 4 inches long. Cut the ends of the strips into a half circle to give the wreath a softer, rounded look, or leave the ends square if you prefer.
-
7
Tie the middle of each strip of felt in an overhand knot around the entire wire frame. Push the knots up against each other tightly. Rotate the ends of the strips so that some are pointing side to side while others are pointing up and down. The stiffness of the craft felt will cause the ends to stick out. Do not overlap the strips.
-
8
Dab a pinhead-sized amount of hot glue onto each knot to reinforce them. Your felt peace sign wreath is ready to hang.
