How to Get Facebook on My Television
When Facebook launched initially, the social networking site was far more limited than it is today. Facebook was only available to students of certain colleges, and users could only navigate the site with a standard Web browser. As Facebook has grown to a ubiquitous global presence, the site is now available on a variety of platforms. You can browse Facebook on a mobile phone, video game console or even your television set.
Things You'll Need
- Internet-ready TV or video game console

1
Connect directly to Facebook with a special app on your television set. For example, modern Samsung HDTV sets have Internet access as well as a store full of applications specially designed for the TV. The app does not have to download from an external source to your set, but you must enter your Facebook login email and password to share your account with the television. If you are not sure whether your television has a built-in Facebook app, check the user manual for a list of available applications, if any.

Connect your home video game console to your TV and an active Internet connection. The Xbox 360 Dashboard and the XrossMediaBar in Playstation 3 provide special apps you can download to directly access Facebook on the devices. The Wii can access Facebook, too, but no special app for doing so is available; instead, use the Wii's Internet browser and visit the Facebook homepage. With any of these consoles, you'll need to verify your email address and password to access Facebook features.

Hook up your laptop to your TV set as an external monitor. Many standard-definition TV sets do not support such connectivity, but many HDTVs come with VGA and HDMI ports. With the appropriate cables and adapters, you can easily connect a laptop to your television for Internet browsing. Once you connect, visit the Facebook website and browse your friends' photos and feeds on a much larger scale.
