Delete unnecessary information before forwarding a message.

When forwarding a message, especially one that has already been forwarded to several other recipients, the body of the email gets lost amidst the trail of sender/receiver information and various comments from other recipients along the way. However, deleting the header is performed in a few simple steps, allowing you to get your point across more quickly and precisely.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the program and access the message to be forwarded. Click the button or menu option, usually labeled "Forward," that enables you to send the message to other recipients. An email screen appears with the forwarding message in the body, the subject line beginning with "FWD:" and a blank space allowing you to preface the email.

    • 2

Enter recipient information in the "To:," "Cc:" and "Bcc:" fields. Type your message to the recipient at the top of the email. Press "Enter" upon finishing. The mouse cursor blinks at the beginning of the new line.

    • 3

Click and hold the left mouse button, scrolling down with the mouse to highlight the unwanted header information. Release the mouse button when the desired selection is highlighted or when you reach the line above the original message. Press the "Backspace" key to delete the highlighted portions.

    • 4

Click "Send" once you are left with just the original message and your note to the intended recipient. The message is sent without any information about previous senders/recipients.
