How to Make Glitter Nail Polish Go on Smooth

Things You'll Need

• Nail polish remover
• Cotton balls
• Ridge-filling base coat
• Nail polish
• Long-wearing top coat
• Cotton swab (optional)

Instructions

1. Apply nail polish remover to cotton balls. Rub them onto fingernails to remove any old or remaining nail polish. This is only necessary if there is existing polish on your nails.

2. Brush on a ridge-filling base coat. Dip the brush into the ridge-filling base coat and brush one stroke down the middle of each nail. Run the brush down the left and then the right of the middle coat.

3. Dip a nail polish brush into the glitter nail polish of your choice. Tap it against the side of the nail polish bottle to remove excess polish. Swipe it once down the middle of the fingernail. Put the brush into the bottle again and tap it against the side. Brush once on the left and once on the right side of the middle coat.

4. Apply a second coat of nail polish using the same procedures as the first coat. Let the glitter nail polish dry for five minutes.

5. Dip the nail brush into a long-wearing top coat and put the brush in the middle of the fingernail. Brush it onto the nails in three strokes.

Tips & Warnings

• If you get any glitter nail polish on the skin surrounding your nails, dampen a cotton swab with nail polish remover and rub it on the skin.
