How to Modify SSIS Packages

SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) allows you to create reporting packages for your database. You create reports that query the database and set up the report design using Business Intelligence Development Studio. You use this application to modify an SSIS package. You can add any reporting element in the software and save the changes to your database server, which is where SSIS packages run.

      Click the Windows "Start" button and select "All Programs." Click "Microsoft SQL Server," then click "Business Intelligence Development Studio." The software opens on your computer.

      Right-click the SSIS package you want to edit in the left panel. A list of all of your SSIS elements, reports and data connections display in the left navigation panel. Click "Modify" from the popup window.

      Edit the SQL code or the step you want to change in the package. After you complete the modification, click "Save" to save the changes.
