How to Get Rid of Certstore.dat

The Certstore.dat trojan allows hackers to gain access to your computer system. A hacker may send you spam or hack into your personal information. The Windows operating system comes pre-installed with the Windows Defender tool that scans your computer for harmful files. Windows Defender will then remove the Certstore.dat trojan.

Instructions

1. Click the Windows "Start" button. Type “Windows Defender” into the search field at the bottom of the Start menu. Press Enter. Windows Defender launches.

2. Click “Scan,” then select “Full Scan.” Windows Defenders searches, quarantines and removes infected files, including the Certstore.dat trojan.

3. Click the X in the upper right corner of the window to exit the application once you confirm the removal of Certstore.dat.
