Snowflakes are all different, and so are handprints. Help your child use her handprint to make her own individual snowflake craft that will add festive fun to any painting, handmade calendar or even to Christmas gift wrap. Snowflake handprints are simple and fun for kids to create, and they won't want to stop until they have a sky full of beautiful snowflakes.

Things You'll Need

  • White craft paint
  • Paint brush
  • Dark colored paper or card stock
  • White or silver glitter

Instructions

      Brush white paint on to the palm of your child's hand.

      Press the painted hand to a dark colored piece of paper or card stock to create a handprint. Without lifting the hand up, rotate the paper a fraction and create another handprint. Continue this pattern making as many as 6 handprints to form a circular snowflake shape.

      Shake some silvery glitter on to the wet snowflake to make your creation sparkle. Allow the paint to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make ornaments from the snowflakes by cutting them out in a circle, using a hole punch to make a hole, and threading some yarn through the hole to hang the snowflake.
