How to Keep Satin Shoe Dye From Running
Finding the perfect pair of shoes for your wedding day for yourself and your bridesmaids sometimes requires a little extra work than merely shoe shopping. If you want shoes in a specific color and can’t find them, you can have a pair of dyeable satin shoes dyed any color you want to match your bridal bouquet, wedding décor or your bridesmaids’ dresses. While the look of dyed satin shoes is something many brides want, it is important to know that the dye used on the satin could run and potentially ruin your dresses if you are not careful.

1
Keep your dyed shoes dry. Moisture such as rain or snow causes the dye used on the satin to run.
-
2
Purchase a water repellent spray to use on your shoes. Spraying this spray on dyed shoes will keep moisture from allowing the dye to run, but it will also prevent you from being able to re-dye your shoes at any point.

Spray the water repellent shoe spray on your dyed shoes only if you need to. Keep the spray with you when you wear the shoes and only spray them if it looks like it will rain or snow at any point while you wear your shoes. This allows you to have your shoes re-dyed in the future.
