How to Remove a Danze Faucet Aerator
Faucet aerators use a screen to filter out debris in the water, such as small stones from well water, hard water deposits and even pieces of plumbing pipe that have broken off. Over time, the buildup that gathers in your Danze faucet’s aerator will block the flow of water, dropping the faucet’s water pressure until you remove the aerator and clean it out. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wrap a rag around the sides of the faucet’s aerator to protect the finish from damage. Alternatively, you can wrap several layers of duct or electrical tape around the sides of the aerator.
-
2
Clamp the jaws of a pair of adjustable pliers to the sides of the aerator. Turn the aerator counterclockwise to unscrew it from the faucet’s spout.

3
Turn on the faucet full blast and hold the aerator upside down in the stream of water, flushing out any sediment caught in the aerator’s screen. Submerge the aerator in a container of vinegar overnight if the aerator has any chalky, hard water residue buildup on it.

4
Rinse the aerator off with water the next day. Screw the aerator back onto the faucet’s spout with the pliers, using the rag or tape to protect the aerator’s finish as before.
