The Yahoo! directory project provides your website with a backlink used to help your website rank and increase PageRank. You must "suggest" your site in the proper Yahoo! directory to add your link to Yahoo! Your site appears with the title as the link and a brief description of your site. It takes several weeks before your site appears in the directory.

Open a Web browser and navigate to the Yahoo! directory main page. Type your website name in the search text box at the top to verify that your site is not already located in the directory.

Navigate to the directory category in which you want to place your website link. Click "Suggest a Site."

Type your website's name, URL and brief description in the text box and click "Submit." A message returns that your submission was successful.
