How to Make Baby Shower Place Card Holders

Place card holders can double as party favors.

Place-card holders can be creatively adapted to reflect the theme or motif of a party, such as a baby shower. Show off your creative side and make your own party favors for the occasion. There are different do-it-yourself card holders from which to choose, depending on your preferences and the style of the event.

Things You'll Need

• Wooden picture frame
• Paint and paintbrush
• Buttons
• Safety pins
• Hot glue
• Glass jar
• Candy pieces
• Ribbon
• Scissors
• Wire
• Cupcakes
• Frosting
• Wooden stick
• Glue

Instructions

1. Create small, baby-themed picture frames to hold place cards. These place card holders double as a party favor. Paint the edges of a small wooden picture frame. Use pink, blue or yellow for traditional baby colors. Hot glue small buttons, safety pins, and other baby-themed trinkets around the edge of the frame.

2. Fill a small glass jar with candy pieces, leaving approximately one inch from the top. Use candy colors that correspond with the motif of the part. Tie a ribbon around the jar for added decoration. Prop the place card up in the candy.

3. Cut a 12-inch piece of wire and shape the end into a spiral or curlicue, so that it resembles a photograph holder. Insert the place card between the circles, so that it is supported by wire on each side. Stick the tip of the wire into a soft object, such as a blue or pink rubber eraser. Stand the place-card holder up, laying the eraser on a flat surface.

4. Bake and frost cupcakes. Insert a wooden stick into the top of the cupcake and press down until the stick is lodged half way into the cupcake. Glue the place card to the other end of the stick. Use round, colorful place cards to resemble a lollipop.
