How to Do a Shag Pillow With Fabric

1
Purchase 1 1/4 yards of shag fabric that measures 45 inches wide. Choose a coordinating thread to match the color you have chosen, or use invisible thread.
-
2
Measure two 25 1/4-inch-long pieces of your shag fabric. Finish the edges of the fabric by hemming it one inch on each side. If this size is too large for your pillow, you can trim the fabric down. If you do need to trim the fabric, allow one inch for the hem; cut the fabric to the correct size and hem the edge on your sewing machine.

3
Place the right sides of the two pieces of fabric together and pin the edges so that the wrong sides are facing out on both sides.
-
4
Sew three of the sides of the cover together, leaving one side open so you can insert the pillow into the cover.
-
5
Turn the pillow cover right-side out. Insert your pillow into the cover. Once the pillow fits snugly into the cover, sew the fourth side of the cover shut on your sewing machine.
