How to Install a TSX Headlight
Properly operating headlights are a necessity for nighttime driving to protect yourself and others. When your Acura TSX headlight burns out and needs replacing, you can replace the bulb yourself rather than taking it to a shop and paying a mechanic to do the job. TSX headlights come in five colors, including ultra white, ultra violet, pure blue, yellow and titanium white. If you are installing one headlight bulb, choose the same color as the functioning bulb, or you can change both bulbs to a different color if you prefer.
Instructions
-
-
1
Park your Acura TSX and engage the parking brake so the car does not roll. Open the hood to access the headlight bulb.
-
2
Put on latex gloves. Grasp the rubber dust cover behind the headlight and pull it back. The rear of the headlight bulb should be visible.
-
-
3
Place one hand on each side of the headlight wiring harness. Pinch the connector and pull the two sides apart to disconnect it.
-
4
Pull the bulb socket straight out toward the rear of the car to remove it. Grasp the bulb and turn it counterclockwise to unlock it, then pull it straight out of the socket.
-
5
Insert a new TSX headlight bulb into the socket and turn it clockwise to lock it in the socket. Insert the socket into the headlight assembly.
-
6
Press the two ends of the headlight wiring harness connector together. There is an audible snapping sound when it is installed correctly.
-
7
Push the rubber dust cover forward to cover the headlight assembly.

Tips & Warnings
Wear latex or cotton gloves when you install a new headlight lamp. This keeps the oils from your fingers from contacting the bulb and causing it to burn out quicker.
If you are not sure of the headlight bulb color, remove the old bulb and purchase a new one with the same part number stamped on the metal bulb casing.
