1
Get a crown and sword that match each other if you can. These can be found in the toy aisles of stores, or at a popular Halloween store. After purchasing these two items you can get the rest of the items for the costume from your own home.Use a sword and crown from your own toy supply if you have one. You can also use the sword and crown as toys for kids long after Halloween.

2
Find a dress shirt that fits the prince to-be. A long-sleeve, button-up white or plain color shirt will work the best. Place an iron-on applique with the first letter of the prince's first or last name over the heart. Even writing with a permanent marker will look fine. Another option is an imitation crest applique. After the applique is applied iron the shirt completely so it is wrinkle free. Don't tuck the shirt in when you wear the costume.

Wrap a belt around the middle of the waist over the shirt. A belt that matches the crown will look the best. The thicker the belt the better. You can also replace the buttons on the colored shirt to match the color of the belt and the crown for a more stylish and complete look.

Add any dress shoes or boots you want. You don't have to get new shoes to finish off your prince costume, You can easily use ones that you already have. Shine them up. Put the costume on in full and take a look in the mirror.
