1
Select an object to weigh down the balloons. For example, a clear cylindrical vase filled with colorful confetti, a favorite toy of the guest-of-honor, or a gift bag that matches the color scheme of the event filled with colorful tissue paper.
-
2
Choose balloons to feature in the centerpiece. Opt for a decorative Mylar balloon to feature in the arrangement; perhaps a butterfly or a balloon that features the age the girl is turning. Select four latex balloons that correspond to the colors of the event.
-
-
3
Inflate the balloons with helium. Tie the Mylar balloon to three ribbons about 4 to 6 feet long. Tie the ends of the ribbon to the weight; around the neck of the vase, the hand of a doll or the handles of a paper bag, for example.
-
4
Tie the latex balloons to a 1- to 2-foot long individual piece of ribbon. Tie the ribbons around the ribbons that support the Mylar balloon. Tie the ribbons of each balloon so that the balloons sit directly underneath the Mylar balloon, forming a base of sorts for this balloon.
-
5
Cut off any excess ribbon that hangs from the center ribbon. Place the balloon centerpiece in the middle of a table.
