How to Antique Polymer Clay

Polymer clay is easy to work with and can be stamped, molded and shaped into almost any shape. Using a few techniques you can give your clay the antique look you are seeking.
Things You'll Need
- Polymer clay
- Wire brush
- Baking tray
- Acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Paper towel
- Sandpaper
- Antique glaze

Mold your polymer clay into whatever shape you desire. To give your clay texture, use a wire brush to indent the clay.

Bake your clay according to the manufacturer directions.

Paint your clay piece with acrylic paint; wipe away most of the clay with a paper towel before it dries. Apply other layers and colors of paint if desired.

Rub away some paint with sandpaper after the paint has dried. Sand lightly until you get the look you want.

Apply an antique glaze to the clay and wipe away the excess. Let the clay dry.
