How to Clean a Porcelain Crock-Pot
Slow cookers, such as porcelain Crock-Pots, provide unlimited possibilities for home-cooked meals. Crock-Pots allow homeowners to slowly cook virtually any entrée without the worry of scorching or burning food. Like all cookware, Crock-Pots acquire food crumbs and residue with each application. The removable porcelain stoneware typically accumulates the most grime, while Crock-Pot exteriors acquire oil smudges and occasional food spills. Turn off the porcelain Crock-Pot and unplug it. Let the Crock-Pot cool if you recently used it.

Remove the lid and porcelain stoneware from the Crock-Pot. Moisten a dishcloth with dish soap (a dime-size amount or less) and hot water.

Wipe the lid and porcelain stoneware with the soapy dishcloth. Remove all food residue and crumbs from the lid and stoneware.

Rinse the lid and porcelain stoneware with fresh, warm water. Set the lid and stoneware aside.

Moisten another dishcloth with dish soap (a dime-size amount or less) and warm water.

Wipe the Crock-Pot’s heating base with the soapy dishcloth. Clean all oily smudges and food spills from the Crock-Pot’s exterior.

Dampen another dishcloth with water. Wipe the Crock-Pot’s exterior to rinse off soapsuds.

Dry the Crock-Pot’s lid, porcelain stoneware and heating base with a clean dishtowel.

Tips & Warnings
Substitute a soft sponge for the dishcloth.
Never soak the heating base in liquids.
Abrasive cleaning materials damage porcelain Crock-Pots.
