How to Add Tracking to Snippets in WordPress
A tracking snippet is code that you can add to your website or blog, such as a WordPress blog, that allows a tracking service to function. This is is a common way to install online trackers such as Google Analytics. The tracking snippet will detect visitors on your WordPress blog and display information such as which pages the visitors viewed most and how long the visitor remained on your blog. To add a tracking snippet, you will need to copy the snippet code and paste it into the code of your WordPress blog.

Highlight the snippet code, right-click and select “Copy.”

Log into your WordPress blog and click the “Appearance” option from the menu.

Click the “Editor” option in the sub-menu to view your WordPress blog code. This will appear in a text box in the middle of the screen.

Click on the “Footer” link from the list of .php pages to the right.

Locate the </body> tag in the code text box.

Right-click inside the text box in front of the </body> tag and select “Paste.” A copy of the snippet code will appear in the text box.

Click the “Update File” button to save the changes to your WordPress blog layout. This will activate your tracking snippet and allow your tracking service to detect visitors to your blog.
