How to Stop Autoresponder from Bouncing Off Another Autoresponder
There are two basic types of autoresponders. The first is user-generated, set by the user of an email account to automatically reply to incoming messages when she plans not to check email often. The second type is system-generated and sent automatically by the server, such as when a message is bounced back to your inbox due to delivery failure. While effective email software prevents messages from endlessly bouncing between autoresponders, it still manages to happen due to SPAM and outdated software. However, there are a few ways to optimize your email application to prevent your autoresponder from bouncing off another.

1
Upgrade your email software with the latest patches and fixes available from the developer. Depending on your email application, click on the "Tools" or "Help" menu and then click "Check for Updates." This ensures that you have the most recent and best functionality, which includes autorepsonder tools and data management to prevent the possibility of autoresponder loops.

2
Ensure that the email SPAM filter is turned on so that unsolicited email doesn't enter your inbox. Click on "Help" and then click "App Help" where "App" is the name of your email application, then type "SPAM" in the search box to find the SPAM tools, if necessary. This keeps those emails from activating your email autoresponder.

Refrain from using autoresponder if your email system is incapable of handling bounces adequately. Give a colleague your email password so he can check your email while you are away.

4
Forward your mail to a colleague who will monitor your email in your absence. Click on "Tools" and then click "Options" and look for "Forwarding" in your email options tabs or controls. Enter the email address of your colleague in the field provided and then click "Save" or "OK."
