Removing Wrinkles from a Leather Wallet

Use one of these four methods to smooth the wrinkles from your leather wallet. These methods for removing wrinkles from leather range from the most gentle to the harshest method.

Things You'll Need

• Hair dryer
• Shower
• Ironing board or towel
• Garment steamer
• Iron

Instructions

Hair Dryer Method

1. Lay the wallet out flat with the leather facing up.

2. Turn on the hair blow dryer and hold it 5 inches away from the wallet. Move the blow dryer back and forth above the wrinkle. Be careful not to overheat the leather. Turn the blow dryer off.

3. Gently smooth the wrinkle out with your fingers while the leather is still warm. Repeat, if necessary.

Shower Stream Method

1. Lay the wallet out flat in the bathroom.

2. Turn the shower on with the water as hot as possible. Wait until the room fills up with steam and turn the water off. Let the wallet set for five minutes.

3. Smooth the wrinkle out with your fingers.

Garment Steamer Method

1. Lay the wallet out flat onto an ironing board or a folded towel.

2. Run the garment steamer gently across the wrinkle.

3. Smooth out with fingers once the leather has cooled enough to touch.

Iron Method

1. Place the wallet out flat onto an ironing board or a folded towel. Place a cotton cloth over the wallet.

2. Iron gently with a hot dry iron without any stream. Be careful not to scorch the leather.
