How to Make a Knitting Spool for Kids
A knitting spool is a great way to introduce children to yarn craft. The resulting strong cording that emerges from the bottom of the spool can be used to make coiled coasters, placemats and hot pads. Once the knitting spool is made, the end of a skein of smooth worsted weigh yarn is dropped down the middle of the spool and the yarn is wrapped around the nails. Another loop of yarn is wrapped around the nails, you pull the first loop over the second and the cord is begun.
