Tumblr is a blog website where users can create blogs known as tumblelogs and create posts to show up on their tumblelogs. Although you can add audio posts to your tumblelog by uploading the audio file from your computer, it may be easier to find songs on YouTube and embed the video code into your tumblelog. YouTube embed codes can go into any type of post or Tumblr theme. You can also minimize the player so that only the bottom controls of the video show up.

Find the YouTube video for the song you want to post on Tumblr. Click "Share," then check the box that says "Use old embed code." The old embed code is the only one that will work on Tumblr.

Look for the two parts of the code that read: "width=420 height=345." The second part, which is closer to the end of the code, is the one you have to edit. Change the height to 25 and the width to 400.

Copy the code after you are finished editing it, then navigate to your Tumblr dashboard and select the type of post where you want to put the video. Click the "HTML" button and paste the code into the box, then click "Create Post."

Go to your tumblelog and click "Customize" in the top right corner if you want to place the video on the sidebar, header or footer of your tumblelog. Click "Theme" and paste the code into the section in which you want it to appear. Click "Save" to save the changes.

You may want to reduce the width depending on where you want to place the video. If you are pasting the code to your Tumblr sidebar, for instance, it should be 100 to 150 pixels across.
