How to Make a Wreath With Colored Mesh-Like Wiring
Colored mesh-like wiring may look like trash from a construction site, but it can make a colorful wreath for your front door or walls. All you need is a few simple tools purchased at your local department or craft store to make it happen. While you are at the store, pick up items to decorate your wreath. Keep a theme in mind while picking your items. A particular holiday or season is a good theme for your colored mesh-like wiring wreath.
Things You'll Need
- Wire cutter
- Pliers
- Wire twist-ties (the kind that come on bread sacks or with trash bags)
- Ribbon
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Decorations (silk flowers, plastic fruit, silk leaves, etc.)
Instructions
-
-
1
Cut a strip of wire mesh that is 3-feet by 6-inches long, using the wire cutters.
-
2
Fold the pointed ends over on themselves using the pliers. This creates a loop that will not pierce the skin.
-
-
3
Fold the 3-foot-long edges together. Secure them together by poking the twist-ties through the holes in the mesh, and then twisting the ends of the twist-tie together. This creates a tunnel shape.
-
4
Fold the two 6-inch edges together. Secure them together with twist-ties. This creates a ring.
-
5
Wind ribbon around the ring and tie the ends together in a bow.
-
6
Glue decorative items to the wreath using the glue gun.
