Ubuntu DNS Tutorial
If your Internet connection in Ubuntu is not working properly, it is possible that your DNS settings are not configured properly. DNS (Domain Name Service) settings are a set of IP addresses that tell your computer what servers on the Internet to query when it tries to visit a domain name so that it knows what IP corresponds with that domain name. Your DNS server IP addresses are usually given to your by your ISP or your network administrator.
