Facebook is currently phasing out FBML.

FBML is also known as the Facebook Markup Language. FBML is a subset of HTML that includes specific tags that can only be used on Facebook. You can use FBML to build apps that customize the Facebook user experience. Your app can alter the News Feed, notifications, user profile and apps that use the canvas. As of September 2011, Facebook is deprecating the Facebook Markup Language in favor of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
