How to: Kill Switch for a Pocket Bike
Pocket bikes are small, battery-operated mini-bikes also often called "pit bikes." These bikes are popular because their size makes them easy to transport. Many adults use them, even though they are child-sized, to maneuver around the pits of a race venue. You can install a battery kill switch that will automatically turn off the bike when you press the switch lever.

1
Locate a place on the bike where you want to mount the kill switch. These bikes are small so locating an area close to the battery is the best idea. However, you can realistically place the switch anywhere you can drill a hole to mount it.
-
2
Drill a hole large enough to mount the kill switch and then use a wrench to mount the kill switch with the nut that came with the switch.

3
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. Trace the cable to the location where the cable bolts to the chassis of the bike. Remove the bolt that holds the cable onto the chassis.
-
4
Attach a ground wire to one lug on the kill switch by using a screwdriver. Attach the other end of the wire to the location where the original ground wire attached to the chassis. You can use the original bolt to secure the wire.
-
5
Attach the original ground cable to second lug on the kill switch and then reconnect the battery cable to the negative battery terminal on the battery.

Tips & Warnings
To turn off power to the bike, flip the switch. This cuts off the ground to the battery and causes the bike to turn off.
